JQ Infrastructure, LLC was established on the principle of providing high quality engineering services to its municipal clients in the water and wastewater industry. Our commitment to excellence and expertise in the civil and structural engineering fields has fostered the continued growth of partnerships with clients throughout Texas. Our experience and unique service offerings allow us to deliver projects with flexibility and understanding, adapting to variations in field conditions and evolving client demands. From sourced water to reclaimed water to treated water, we are dedicated to full participation in the process from start to finish, delivering facilities that are feasible, sustainable and economical.

President
Murali has more than 29 years of experience in structural engineering including experience with design and detailing, coordination with related disciplines, production of contract documents, development of project construction budgets and construction administration. He oversees conditions assessments, evaluation and rehabilitation of various new and existing structures at water, wastewater and lake facilities. He designs new structures in the plants and structural modifications to various existing structures to accommodate process improvements and facility maintenance. He is actively involved in the construction administration process to maintain progress of work per contract documents and ensure that all construction issues are resolved in a timely manner.

A forward-thinking leader, Chris has been instrumental to JQ’s infrastructure success. His broad industry experience includes infrastructure, heavy industrial, municipal and institutional projects with an emphasis on water/wastewater facilities. He has extensive knowledge in structural design, project construction costing, feasibility studies, structural assessments, production of specifications and construction management. Chris is responsible for daily management of the group, as well as project management for infrastructure and industrial projects and client interaction at all levels.

Steve is a distinguished member of the A/E industry. He focuses on strategic business development, quality service to our clients and establishing and maintaining strong ties to the community. With over 30 years of experience, Steve has built an impressive track record involving a diverse portfolio of structural projects, including investigations and assessments, renovations and restorations, new construction and historic preservation. His expertise in structural consulting enables him to prudently guide clients through all stages of a project from inception to completion.

Chris has more than 12 years of experience in civil engineering design, project management and construction administration services. His experience includes water, wastewater and stormwater pipeline design, water and wastewater master planning, water and wastewater treatment, bypass pumping plans, condition assessment, site grading, drainage and pavement design. He has managed a variety of infrastructure and site development projects and provides comprehensive services from preliminary design to construction management for municipal, industrial and commercial clients throughout Texas.

Associate
Louis has more than 30 years of experience in civil engineering design. His experience encompasses water treatment and wastewater treatment facilities site design that includes all buried yard piping, paving, grading and drainage. He has been the senior design engineer for facilities site design for both the Eastside and Bachman Water Treatment Plants in Dallas, Texas. He designed over $15 million of construction for the plants combined. Louis has experience in construction cost budgeting, feasibility studies and conceptual design, and master planning. He has managed projects from the preliminary design phase through construction phase services.

The project consisted of planning, programming, and phasing for the abatement and demolition of the existing Terminal C - High C Gates to be replaced with a new two-level, 111,000 SF terminal building. Bridging documents to a 10% level were created to allow the Airport to solicit Design Build proposals from qualified teams. Our role changed from planner to that of oversight on behalf of the airport as the design builder started their efforts.

The project consisted of planning, programming, and phasing of the overall expansion of Terminals A & C, inclusive of two additional double loaded piers, starting out with approximately 110,000 to 140,000 SF total floor area to accommodate nine new incremental gates. At the planning stage two options were considered. Bridging documents to a 10% level were created to allow the airport to solicit design build proposals from qualified teams. Once a design builder was selected our role is changed from planner to that of oversight on behalf of the airport.

JQ’s role as civil engineer included development of construction drawings, specifications and Basis of Design report for utilities, pavement markings, traffic flow and erosion control. The utility design included 1,200 LF of 12-inch water lines, 550 LF of eight-inch and four-inch sanitary sewer and 1,500 LF of storm drains connecting to proposed trench drain inlets around the newly expanded terminal and hardstand. JQ’s role as structural engineer included development of construction drawings, specifications and Basis of Design report for all structural systems and underground tunnels. The expansion included the design of three levels, 130,000 SF of new concourse space and accommodates four swing gates, both domestic and international flights with two wide body, four narrow body aircrafts. The physical connection to Terminal D involved partial demolition and tie-in to the existing building.

The project scope included the renovation and expansion of existing restroom facilities by infilling a two-story volume with additional structure enhancing ventilation and maintainability. The design-build work on the 60-plus lavatories and 100-plus fixtures included innovative construction techniques including pre-fabricated modular set ups.

The Consolidated K9 and Bomb Squad Facility is a “turnkey” project for a new one-story, approximate 15,000 square foot Consolidated K9/Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) facility; equipment bay; apposite storage for a multipurpose, regional unit; four indoor kennels & with an additional 15 outdoor kennels and dog runs for police working canines per TSA kennel regulations; training area; secure parking for employees and fleet vehicles, and required public parking; and associated site improvements.

This project consisted of plan review, field investigations, dye testing, and mapping to verify the stormwater conveyance system and industrial drainage system on the air terminal side of Terminal D at DFW International Airport. The goal of the project was to confirm the routing of all drains and collector lines through separator units prior to discharge to the stormwater conveyance system. A summary memorandum of all findings was prepared that included drawings and descriptions of the system along with preliminary pipe sizing and routing for drain lines that were not currently connected to the separator system. The project also included preliminary construction cost estimating for proposed improvements.

JQ Infrastructure is proud to have provided civil and structural engineering design services for the iconic TxDOT Safety Rest Area in Pecos County, Texas. Structural services included design of public restrooms, storm shelters and first responder command rooms for two buildings. Civil services included rehabilitation of two water wells, water storage tanks, and design of new disinfection systems, pumps, pressure tanks and new distribution piping, new septic fields, tanks, manholes and collection piping.
